The Lemont Village Association was established in 1979 to promote the awareness, appreciation, preservation, and significance of the historical traditions and architecture of Lemont, to solve issues affecting the village, and to improve the quality of life for all who live there.
This year we are beginning a drive to fund work on the Railroad/Coal Sheds building. Period siding was replaced on three sides of the building, but more was needed to do the side facing the railroad track. The wooden siding is original, from 1885. Funds needed for this project will probably exceed $50,000, so this will be a long term project.
